PSP Grand Theft Auto- Liberty City Stories

4 stars (Must-have fun for the PSP) - Finally, GTA is here for the PSP. If you are still deciding whether to get this or not, I say go for it. While GTA: LCS is not the "killer app" that GTA 3 was for the PS2, it's nonetheless tons of fun and endless excitment, coupled with lots of handheld violence and one-person mayhem. There's no doubt that this is simply the best PSP game so far, and it takes full advantage of the PSP's processing and graphic powers. The graphics is fantastic on the PSP, and the framerate for the most part excellent. A couple times you'll notice some choppiness, but otherwise it's just like on the good ol' PS2. The controls are mostly good, except this game inherits the maddening aiming scheme from GTA 3, so when you are in the middle of a Godfather-like shootout, you'll wish for better aiming controls. But that's just a minor complaint. What stopped me from rating this 5 stars -- my inclination is to give it an overall rating of 4.5 stars (90%) -- is the level design is just too similar to GTA 3. You are back in Liberty City, with pretty much the same layouts. Neighborhood names have changed, but otherwise the environment and the characters look (and sound) exactly the same. The gameplay is also pretty much the same, which is great but at the same time a little, shall we say, hackneyed. Still, this is a must-have title for any PSP gamers. 5 stars (Can someone please answer my question?) - I have a PSP and I want to get this game really badly. But I read in previous reviews for this game that the system software has to be at least 2.0 or higher to play this game. The system software on my PSP is 1.50! Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix

4 stars (Dance Dance Revolution: More addictive than Pac-man) - I just bought this game Yesterday evening after yearning for this for about 6 months. Better than what I percieved it to be like in other people's reviews. The story mode is pretty fun your first way through it on Easy mode and The story is pretty cool except some of it makes no sense, like there is a part when mario is jumping on a flower and some how it magically blooms and bounces mario up on top of a mountain and later in the story Mario has to go back up there and he has to jump on a flag to some how magically appear there when he could of just hopped on the friggin flower. Well anyways this game comes in a box bigger than the one the gamecube comes in so that might scare you from purchasing it in a store because you may think you have to buy a Gamecube with it but you really don't. The box is so big because the Dance Pad is fairly large. When I went to go buy this at Wal*mart the clerks thought it was a gamecube and were wondering why it was so light. LOL! The songs on this game kicks ass. There is a huge bundle of remixed mario songs, some dance songs from 3rd party groups, and atleaste one from other Nintendo games.(Original Donkey Kong Theme Remix) The "Work Out Mode" if you heard about it isn't really a mini-game were you work out. it just changes the option of your weight and tells you how much colories you've burnt throughout your plays through this game. I think the Dance pad is kind of cheap. I worry that I might break it when I wear shoes so I always wear socks or go barefoot while playing, the bottom is white and some how dirt gets attracted to it, the plasticy material that covers the top of the pad wrinkles up if you drag it and sometimes you will move out of place on the mat while your playing and really screw up. Celebration of Discipline- The Path to Spiritual Growth- 25th Anniversary Edition

5 stars (The title is not an oxymoron) - The writer of Hebrews tells us in chapter 12 that no discipline seems pleasant at the time we are receiving it, but if we can receive it, learn from it, and apply it, then it will produce "a harvest of righteousness and peace" in our lives. Richard J. Foster gives his readers a beautiful and inspiring look at how spiritual disciplines work in our lives and cause us to become deeper and stronger people in Christ and His Word. In so doing, the process of discipline becomes precious--even joyful--to the mature believer who embraces it. There is a beauty in the simplicity of Foster's words and in the actions that he advocates. There are...to paraphrase a popular television exercise commercial..."no high impact gyrations, no tricky dance moves" here in this book. It's just good, solid, basic information that will bring about real results. But, it's far from dry. Foster is a patient and empathetic teacher. This special 25th anniversary edition is beautifully done, spare but elegant (a lot like the prose inside). This is one of those books that's not only a must for every Christian's bookshelf, but a must to read and apply. 4 stars (Excellent) - This is an excellent and important book of its genre, but I will never forget Frank McCourt's repeated advice to us after studying creative writing with him in High School -- write what you know. If you just stick to that little kernel, the worst grammer, the worst punctuation, the worst spelling -- none of it will matter. When you know your subject, the writing is effortless... and amazing. 5 stars (RE: Synaptic Mogul's Puzzling Review) - I too read Bill Zinsser--years ago. It puzzles me that Synaptic mogul could review Shadow Divers--a poorly written book--with the benefit of having just read On Writing Well--an excellent book--and discover no writing errors whatsoever. (See my review of Shadow Divers.) I wonder what Bill Zinsser himself would say about Shadow Divers? On Writing Well was the best book of it's time. Now there are other books that are as good as Zinsser's, or better,"Words Fail Me," for instance. 5 stars (How To Improve Your Book Reviews on Amazon) - Zinsser asserts that writing well can be learned. This is good news. I thought I wrote well until I compared my reviews to those of some of the consistent top reviewers on Amazon. How do they do that? According to Zinsser (and affirmed by Tom Clancy on a TV interview), good writers follow rules, editing each sentence and paragraph multiple times. They write against deadlines whether or not they're feeling inspired. When done properly, the finished product can look deceptively simple to write. Following is my liberally abridged summary of Zinsser's rules: 1. Do - prune out every word that does not perform a necessary function. Strip each sentence to its cleanest components. A clear sentence is no accident. 2. Do - use the thesaurus liberally. Learn the small gradations between word that seem to be synonyms. 3. Do - try to improve the rhythm by reversing the order of a sentence, substituting a word that has freshness or oddity and by varying the lengths of sentences....
