5 stars (Roxio Toast 7 Titanium (MAC)) - This is a great product, has some nice new features like making a Music CD, CD-Text. 4 stars (much needed improvement) - After using Toast 5 & 6 for a while I received version 7 with great anticipation. Installation is as easy as it gets, and the interface (while hardly changed form v6) is intuitive. One of the best enhancements I've encountered so far is the use of hybrid discs. In the past, the only option was "Custom Hybrid", which didn't always work. This option still exists, but the new, simpler hybrid Mac/PC format (while giving slightly less custom options on the Mac side) is finally dead simple - choose the files you want and designate if they should be burned for Mac, PC or both by using checkboxes. Other new features include improved DVD burning and backing up many files or one large file over several discs, while still being able to acess them one by one. The price is not too bad and a $20 rebate is available for previous owners. I recommend it. 5 stars (For video-philes!) - Quite simply, there's no other single program out there that will do so much. Here's just one example to add to those mentioned by other customers. It's great to be able to combine movie titles from DVD backups( from saved TS folders on my harddrive ), multiple iMovie projects, DivX and original DV footage on one disc. Then, I saved the whole as an oversized disc image and use DVD compression to fit it onto a single DVD! The program offers a choice of several menu themes that are artistic and easy to navigate. Then, I used the disc spanning feature to backup some (huge!) DV source files to multiple DVDs. ...

Mario Superstar Baseball

5 stars (Batman and Robin's opinion on mario super star baseball) - Hi,it's Robin again. Batman and I thought that this game wuz awsome. It is more than baseball,characters have special powers and you can play at stadiums with obstecls. Batman will tell you about them, Hola, it is Batman again. In Mario stadium there are no obstecles. In Peach garden there are boxes in mid-air and if the ball bounces on them it will bounce. In Yoshi park there are pirhana plants that will bite. In Wario palace there are tornados and chomp chains that move the ball. In D.K. jungle there are barlles and claptraps. 5 stars (Simplistic Bliss) - While many believe that the simplictity of this game is it's downfall, I for one think that it is what makes the game so darn fun. I ussualy wasn't one to play too many baseball sims as they got too complex or tedious but this game is just right for me and all of you others like me who think baseball is kind of a slow game. All your favorite carachters are here and thensome. We have Mario, Wario, Peach etc. but we also have some obscurities like King Toadstool and Trixie Kong. Each carachter has their own specialty (other than balanced players i.e. Mario, Power players are good at hitting hard and pitching hard and fast but tend to be slow runners. Speed players tend to be good fielders and baserunners but average hitters and pitchers. Then there are technique players which as far as I can tell excell in pitching and are ok at everything else. Each player also has their own star power that when tapped into allows the player to hit or pitch with cool powers like a flame ball for Mario. That isn't the only piece of Mario flavor that finds itself in the game. Every field has it's own obstacle that is ussualy a staple in the series such as piranha plants that eat and spit out your ball. This game has the full range of modes but nothing really worth talking about. Over all this is a great great game for those of you looking for a simple fun ...

Get Togethers - Rachel Ray 30-Minute Meals

1 stars (ALL of her books share the same major fault....) - Don't get me wrong, I love her shows, it is great to see how she pulls it all together in the 30 minutes without seeming rushed. The recipes, for the most part, are pretty healthy and have good variety. The lack of pictures doesn't bother me, as she's not really into foo-foo presentation with raspberry sauce swirled half-a-mile away on the edge of the dessert plate, imho totally wasting perfectly good raspberry sauce.... However, her books are *not* written to really go with the flow of her show, as in total meals being prepared at the same time. The recipes, while grouped together as a menu, are all written separately, just like in other cookbooks. So, if you're looking to see what you should be doing *while* the water is boiling or something else is cooking, you're not going to get any help from her books, which is disappointing. Believe it or not, it takes organization and good time management skills to get everything on the table hot (or cold, as the case may be) at the same time. Her shows do an excellent job of this--the books do not. She needs to look at redoing her books in both formats--recipes all being prepared at the same time to match her show, as well as the more conventional way if you want to mix and match. Then I would buy them. In the meantime, watch the shows and take notes to get the process down, then get the books from the library or used from Amazon. 4 stars (HOW ABOUT 30 MEALS IN 15 MINUTES?) - She's done it again...another book, with recipes simple enough for your lazy teenage son to cook, but Rachel, Rachel...more pix please! Some of us need more stimulation than others. Rachael Ray-s 30-Minute Get Real Meals - Eat Healthy Without Going to Extremes

5 stars (Love It, Love It, Love It!!!!!) - This cookbook, is in my opinion Rachel Ray's best one yet. It's creative, original and very tasty. Never boring. It suits all my cooking/diet phases from low cal to low carb and everything in between. The best part about her recipes is that they are easy to tweak if you should come across an ingredient that you don't much care for without losing the flavor of the dish. I love the stuffed tomatoes! I bought this book as a birthday gift for my sister and almost couldn't give it to her, I did, and I went back to the store the next day and bought it for myself. Some opinions are just evil and nasty. Some can't tolerate watching Rachel's show and that's okay, the show is probably geared towards viewers who don't have a stick up their ... anyway. Great book and even greater gift! My sister loved it too! 5 stars (Rachel Rays cook book) - It arrived on time & in great condition. Great product, very pleased. 1 stars (At least you don't have to listen to her) - Sounds like of a "Catty" title, but I'm sorry. Some of her recepies are good, but no real nutritional values are listed, especially for being touted healthy and fast meals. I'm sure Ms. Ray has a devoted following, but after trying to watch her shows on Food Network, I find it better to read a recepie, than trying to listen to her. With her gravelly-rough cigarette voice, I find it hard to concentrate on her talking. On television she comes accross as White Trash, Redneck cooking. Does she have any cooking school behind her, or is her entire repetoire' just throw this together and your friends will find it "cool". Anyhow if you like Mizz Ray you will probably like this book, and spare your ears at the same time. Me I actually prefer, Giada De Laurentiis, and Sandra Lee. Both these ladies are classy, award winning chefs, and have actual nutritional value to their recepies. ...

Band in a Box 2005

5 stars (Simply Incredible, fantastic sofware for beginner and pro) - Especially for the beginner, now you can have a rhythm section to back you up. You can change the key, follow the notes on screen, change tempo. And your accompaniment never tires, always is on the beat, and always in tune. This is extremely valuable for anyone learning jazz. This is probably the best single investment that a jazz student could make. 5 stars (Great software for musicians) - This is a great piece of software if you play any kind of a musical instrument or are a vocalist and want to practice playing songs with a virtual band. You just type in the chords, select a style and tempo and the software comes up with an arrangement in that style. Depending on which style you pick there will be different instruments in the arrangement. There are around 200 built in styles in various genres such as jazz, latin, country, pop etc. The arrangements are surprisingly good, especially if you can send the midi to an external keyboard. The software was very easy to install on Windows XP. I'm using it to work on practicing jazz standards on the piano but playing them the way I would in a band situation which is very different from the way I would play them solo. I have been able to quickly enter the chords of the song by typing in their names (eg Em7b5), pick a style and have band in a box come up with an arrangement. I then mute out the piano part and play along with the program to try out different ideas for comping. If I want to practice soloing I just mute out more instruments. I would expect that it would be equally useful for many other instruments. I also use it to print out fake book type lead sheets and have found the transpose feature to be very useful as it transposes the chord symbols along with the music. Band in a Box allows you to record an audio or MIDI track on top of an arrangement so you can play back and see how you sound but it isn't a multitrack recorder, for that you would...

Instant Immersion American Sign Language Deluxe

3 stars (Great Learning Aid/But Slow) - I really enjoy this software. The illustrations are live and that is so much better than the illustrations in the books I have. But the only problem is for example: when you are using the two dictionary disc, after you request a few signs the program starts to get reallllllllll slow. You request a sign for a word and it takes forever to process and load. I bought a laptop specifically for this software so I could travel with it. I thought something was wrong with the laptop so I returned it. I have since loaded this software at work and at home and the same thing happens. You have to shut the program down and start it up again to gain the initial speed. And of course there are eight disc. You can't load but one disc at a time. If they could just fix these two things, this learning tool would be prefect. 4 stars (good sign language aide) - This is a good sign language aide. The software come with eight disks. The first disk is the downloading disk that also contains a n overview as well as the history of sign language. Disk 2 and 3 contains a dictionary of words that are used in sign language. The list is not exhuastive but it is extensive. The words that are in bold are on that disk. The normal font words are on the other disk. Each word comes with a visual representation of the sign. Each word comes with a written description of the sign that explains what the sign is trying to illustrate. Each word comes with a list of alternate and simular words. This is usefull in determining which definition of a word is being used. such as Ball-dance party, or Ball-play object. Unfortunutaley there is no written definiton of the word. The words are listed alphabetically and by catagory. They also have section for games and quizes where you can test your knowledge. X-PLANE V8 Mac

5 stars (Learning to fly with the simulator) - I am a single engine pilot, but haven't flown for 20 years. I think the Simulator is easy to understand. I am having problems using the joystick so tried the mouse. When I click on the windshield and pull the arrow down it has no effect on the plane. Maybe as I become more familiar with the computer, I will do better. I am anticipating many joyful flying sessions when I get this mastered. 4 stars (X-plane 8.0 - Rule the world with it) - When I got it from the factory. All I got it the DVD in a plastic holder and that's it. No box, no instruction book. Nothing. I had to get into the program and find out how to fly planes (X and otherwise) on my own. All I got this game for wa to train actor on Boeing 777 on a Mac, before we got them in flight simulators up in Seattle. But this game turned into much more. If you can run up a B-52, take-off, circle and land; you can fly anything. I've landed a B-52G twice. But think crash. Not don't crash. What does the load vectors do. Will it take-off with four engines. What if all engines shut do on take-off? Crash land. Anyway. That's $100,000+ flight training at Alteon in Seattle (a private flight training company) for $50. Which you want to pay? Some of the flight sims are a pain, like the X-15. Even if you load Edwards AFB or even Denver, you end up over water or desert that I have no idea where I am. The Space Shuttle is even worst. But the MOST DIFFICULT plane to fly is the Cessna 172. You end up side ways, when you an at V1. And by the time you at V2, you're screwed. Commit, pull up and take-off. You're in the air or you've crashed.
