I cancelled and ordered direct from Amazon. 4 stars (Concrete countertop construction) - This is a great guide to the basics of concrete coutertop design and construction. It was quite helpful in getting us started with our project. Thanks. 5 stars (Wiggers Flooring and Design Inc.) - First let me start by saying how much this book has inspired me. After reading it cover to cover I decided to leave my current company platform to include custom counters for my many clients. Of course only after pourung quite a few for my friends and for myself as well. The possibilies are endless when it comes to concrete design. This book has made us realize the full potential of the liquid state of concrete. I have just ordered the newest book the author released recently and am egerly awaiting the arrival. Mr Cheng thank you for changing my life. ...

And I already have a design MA with my own firm. 2 stars (NOT SUCH GREAT BUY) - I AGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS TWO REVIEWERS, THIS BOOK IS GREAT ONLY IN THE WRITTEN INFORMATION, IN THE PICTORIALS IT IS INDEED SORELY LACKING. I HONESTLEY SAY THIS WITH FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE, BECAUSE I MYSELF AM CURRENTLY A DESIGN STUDENT, AND I HAD TO PURCHASE THIS BOOK FOR A MAJOR PART OF MY INTERIOR DESIGN EDUCATION. I RECOMMEND THAT THIS BE A BOOK THAT YOU CHECK OUT FROM THE LIBRARY FOR REFERENCE AND NOT ONE YOU PURCHASE. 2 stars (Underwhelming and overpriced) - The text of this volume is decent and well organized but in the area that most designers are interested in, visual examples, it is sorely lacking. A very minimal section of color photographs (which jump from Roman to the Renaissance. No sign of the Gothic)and a series of low contrast black and white ones are augmented with a series of uninspired drawings. All of this might still be helpful and useful were it not for the price. There are many volumes on furniture and decor that have come on the market recently which are superior in their content and priced more reasonably. ...

1 stars (REfinishers need not apply) - In reading information on the author--that he runs a finishing and refinishing business--I thought this book would contain help in boths areas. I was misled and this book is of no use to me. My plans were to REfinish a houseful of oak cabinets and for information on that, I will now have to look elsewhere. For someone wanting to finish new, never before finished wood, this book looks very complete and detailed. 5 stars (Great book, great pictures, super informative) - A great a-z guide on finishing, clear pictures and well written. So much information to absorb, maybe too much. I've reread it many times and use it often as a reference. The best finishing book Iv picked up so far 5 stars (Great for us beginners!) - I have been woodworking for about 6 years now but only as a hobbiest. I loved this book because even though I have several other finishing books this one was much more through. It gives several options on how to do just about every aspect of finishing. I loved the index in this book. It actually has a photo for each of the chapter showing what it pertains to. Another wonderful feature of this book are the step-by-step photos within each chapter. Great "how to" photos. ...

4 stars (Like Cliff Notes for Furniture!) - This book has brief history lessons on furniture from the begining of time! It's a great reference when you need an answer about a design period- quick! A must for every Interior Designer! 4 stars (Excellent Reference - Nice Job!) - I found the book to be a good overall reference and extremely useful in explaining period furniture to my design clients. I would like to have seen more coverage of Mid-century Modern, especially the work of Edward Wormley and DUNBAR. 3 stars ( The Complete Illustrated Guide to Furniture and Cabinet Construction ) - Not for beginners...The book is beautifully done as far as construction, pictures, binding, etc. but needs a little more about basic tools. E.G. Coping saw is used for coping. O.K.? If your looking for the basics this isn't it. John 4 stars (Just misses 5 stars by a small planet.) - I have nothing but good to say about this book, and concur with all the other positive comments from other reviewers. The reason I can't give it 5 stars is that I COULD put it down. There are other woodworking books, also designed as references, that were just so well done, and so well written, that this one just doesn't quite get there. (Two I'm thinking of are Scott Landis' The Workbench Book : A Craftsman's Guide to Workbenches for Every Type of Woodworking and Understanding Wood Finishing by Bob Flexner.) This is a wonderful book that you should buy. Just make sure you get the other two as well! 4 stars (An Excellent book meant to be used in the shop) - This book shows all the techniques that can be used to build cabinets, which is the structure most furniture is built from. It is abondantly illustrated, is not necessarily targeted at accomplished enthusiast (I only own a few power and hand tools, no table saw, jointer, planer, and still do not feel left behind when reading this book), and well chaptered. It is not meant to be read from page 1 to page 300, but rather on a when-needed basis. I would have liked it to be a bit more developped on each subject, but at 300 pages it is already a big book. Recommended for everyone, perhaps especially for those who are rather new to woodworking. ...

1 stars (Ick!) - This book is freaky. It is all about baby stuff that no one buys.. like all the stuff that sits on the shelf at Wal Mart and then gets sold at Big Lots. There are no super-cool things in it at all. If you want to be a dowdy mom with no style, listen to the advice of this author. I found a much better book out there.. I'll post my review on that tomorrow... not finished reading it yet. This one is just icky. 4 stars (I was completely clueless and this book helped a lot!) - I was by myself, (mother and sisters too far away in distance and baby ages), and found this book very helpful to guide me on what was or was not needed. I only would say that I NEVER bought something from where they suggested to get it. I always looked at online savings/cupons and offers. I saved a TON of money and still got the best products for us... for example, look at ebay for things you can clean and machine wash -- we got everything new and that was a mistake we regret. Swing, Bouncy, Mobiles, toys, safety items and decorations, are things you can buy used ans save a lot! There is also the church sales and the statewide garage sales to get good bargains. I went ahead and copied the phrase from the last review (the one that talks about clothe diapers and making your own formula) CANNOT DISAGREE MORE with the savings approach (I'm a working mother) but definitive ABSOLUTELY AGREE with this statement Overall, I would recommend purchasing Baby Bargains. After all, it is a *really* good book for product information, what you need and what you don't. However, it could definitely go farther in saving you money with low cost alternatives and online coupon website recommendations! I have given this book as a present to all my friends that are having babies this year...it can be found for $6-7 and that is your savings by not buying the wipe warmer, for example. 4 stars (Extremely helpful) - There are soooo many things on the market to buy for baby/toddler these days!! ...
