It also covers topics that deal with the brain, heart, digestive, reproductive glands, lungs, bones and joints. Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Michael Roizen have managed to make learning these topics both entertaining and enjoyable by including illustrations of pathogenic creatures whose role it is to portray illnesses that harm the body. There are also illustrations of benevolent elf creatures whose role it is to guide readers through different parts of the body in terms of names and functionalities. The authors have also incorporated a sense of humor, trivia, and a diet plan. In terms of humor, we have analogies between the activities of muscle cells when engulfing deceased heart tissue and the fighting that regularly presents itself on daily talk shows. In terms of trivia, the authors discuss the frequency at which one should have one's thyroid level checked. They reveal the quantity of air biscuit floatation produced by an average human per day. They also expose information regarding the quantity of times that most persons engage in intercourse. Finally, the authors invite their readers to try a 10-day, 30-recipe diet plan designed to benefit certain systems of the body such as that of immunity. This is an important book because not only does it mention how diseases start and the consequent effects that they have on one's body, but it also provides readers with advice on how to prevent or quash conditions that bear the potentiality to endanger the quality of their lives. 5 stars (I learned to tickle his pickle!) - This book is so wonderful. I was challenged before, and now I tickle like a pro. 3 stars (Good read, but probably basic) - I bought this book in hopes I would get some simple, straightforward advice about how to perform oral sex and touch my boyfriend in pleasing ways. I don't have a whole lot of experience in these areas, and when in doubt, I read. This book certainly gave me the information that I wanted. The instructions were well illustrated, simple to follow, and haven't failed me yet. It's also short and easy to read. At the same time, I give the book 3 stars because, like some of Sadie Allison's other books, the techniques covered in the book are a bit simplistic. If I'd really sat down and thought about it or simply practiced, I probably could have come up with most of the things in this book on my own. If you have a lot of experience, this book probably won't give you much useful information. 3 stars (Nothing new really) - I am a professional educationalist without time to pick up babes. Unfortunately, that means I have had to resort to onaismistic urges. I bought this book to help pleasure myself, but frankly it is written for women, or at least for someone who doesn't know their way around penile equipment. GRE Exam 2006- Premier Program Kaplan Gre Exam Book - CD-Rom

5 stars (Great Study Book) - This book was very helpful to use for preparing for the General GRE Exam. I thought they covered each section of the text very well and explained how to do well in each part of the exam. The practice tests were a great study tool as well. 3 stars (Warning to Mac Users) - If you use a Mac, AVOID this book. The reason I state this is that you won't find out until you've opened the envelope containing the CD that it works on Windows only. They do not have a Mac CD to send you -- you are up a creek. As for the rest of the book -- it's standard test-taking skills. If you need that, it's fine. 5 stars (The best resource) - I only had a few weeks to study for the GRE and the Premier program, 2006 edition, was the best resource. It helped in all three catergories and gave useful examples. The accompanying CD was also a great tool. It gave great practice tests that helped me prepare for the actual test. This is a MUST if you have a time constraint. ...

The Complete German Commission E Monographs- Therapeutic Guide to Herbal Medicines

4 stars (Important work if one understands its place) - This is an important work, helping to document the validity of herbal medicine. However, it is not an all-encompassing work and obviously isn't referenced. Nevertheless, the German Commission E's method of publishing monographs based on the information gathered from companies, researchers, and practitioners (but apparently kept confidential) serves a useful purpose. It is always helpful to consult this text to get some solid conformation for common traditional uses. Every practitioner and researcher should have this book, though it certainly cannot be used in a vacuum. 2 stars (Huge Disappointment!) - I had hoped this book could be my benchmark for herbal information. What I found was a book that was hard to use with little useful information. ... Otherwise, Facts and Comparisions' Review of Natural Products is a better choice. 5 stars (The Most Solid and Dependable Work on the Market) - I have worked with herbs for many decades and have shelves and shelves full of works on Herbs and Healing. The German Commission E Monographs is still an often used Reference that in my oppinion belongs on everyone's shelf who works with Herbs. True, it does not cover all that the herbs are capable of and due to lack of proof, many wonderful herbs are not approved, BUT, and this is most important, whatever you find in this book is scientifically proven and you can believe it. I VERY strongly recomend this book, and the CD as well. Whenever you explore a new herb, or need to know facts, check it out in the Commission E Monographs. Then you have a very good outline from where you can start to work with, and together with other herbals get to know and experiment to arrive at your own conclusion. And that is not to mention the inclusion of interaction with other drugs, side effects, mode of administration, active composition for each monograph and different chapters that cover all that is important. A MUST for every practition...

The Girlfriends- Guide to Pregnancy

5 stars (Hilarious!!! at last a book talking about you and not the baby) - Recommend it for everyone! my husband liked it a lot too. I wish the first chapter of the girlsfriend guide to the first year was in this book instead. BUy Both and read them before the baby is born. I got hit by a postpartum blues stage that did not let me read through the other book until I had passed that stage... should I had had the other book or read the first chapter....I might have been a little less concerned about feeling like an alien had possesed me.... 5 stars (Funny Pregnancy Read) - This is an awesome book that every first time mom should read. It isn't as scary, wordy, and technical as "What to expect when your expecting". I used the girlfriend's guide as a secondary book to that one. It is very good for a few laughs and not so good on the technical information but that is what the other book is for. 1 stars (I truly couldn't stand this) - Yes I know she is trying to be funny, and sarcastic, but it mostly comes off as mean and whiney. I wanted a light read, not this condescending instructional book which really isn't any more informative than any other pregnancy guide I've picked up. In my opinion, its NEVER A good idea to tell your husband "and that's the child you didn't want!" after a baby he was less than enthused about is born and makes him smile. Can we say marriage counseling? And I don't think pregnancy gives you an excuse to treat everyone around you badly. And please don't tell a pregnant woman that your friends, who love you and are trying to support you, are outright lying when they tell you how good you look and how little your body has changed. You probably NEED that type of encouragement from friends, and hearing that your friends MUST be lying is just destructive. I couldn't even get through this one, I think this book seriously needs a rewrite and the author, a clue that you don't need to be mean to be funny. ...
