4 stars (Thoughtful and Important) - Conseco begins by stating that he believes inteligent use of steroids, combined with human growth hormone, will one day be accepted and standard practice. (Add genetic engineering to the list - my opinion.) Conseco was a fair-to-middling minor-league player until he vowed to his dying mother that he was "Going to be the best athlete in the world." Shortly after that he began using steriods after reading up on the topic and considerable discussion with a "regular." Initially it was scary - he wasn't certain what would happen, or even if anything would change. After about two weeks he began to see and feel changes. At the same time, Conseco also undertook a strenuous program of exercise - particularly exercises that emphasized speed, not muscle mass. A third enhancement came from intense studying of pitchers to better guess their next pitch, rather than just reacting. Eventually Conseco added about 70 lbs. of muscle, and increased his running and swinging speeds. An additional benefit was building endurance - he no longer lost energy as the season wore on - like most players. Mark McGwire soon became a pupil and followedd a similar regimen - adding 50 lbs to his frame. Both McGwire and Conseco had great swings at the start, and Conseco stresses that steroids will not make a great athlete out of someone lacking talent. Conseco is sensitive to possible damage from steroid use, and credits his avoidance to careful attention to amounts and types used. He also believes that baseball players have an advantage over football players when it comes to steroid use because they are not so inclined to overdo it in an effort to reach 300+ lbs. Conseco eventually became well-known for steroid use - probably because he taught so many other players and trainers about it. Super Smash Bros Melee

5 stars (For kids or not?) - A game in which just about every classic Nintendo character beats the phooey out of every classic Nintendo Character. What is there not to like? No blood is exchanged here either. A fighter without blood that rocks ... Nintendo is innovative. Aside from the no blood, legendary characters and crazy fun locations, you have mini-games and power-ups out the yin yang. In short, the power ups and the mini games are way fun. The power ups rule the game. From baseball bats to the SNES light gun. WOW. Finally, the unlockable characters will have you playing forever and ever. This games shelf life will be limitless. I'm on board for whatever sequel they come up with at whatever price. Bottom Line: Is it fun? Incredible game. Will I keep it? You bet. It has infinite replay value. Good for kids? Well it is just fighting. It is cartoony and fun, but that doesn't stop my kids from enacting the fighting scenes when they are done playing the game. 5 stars (Best video game out their, hands down!) - Although the PS2 and Xbox have dominated the GameCube in sales, they have not dominated in quality. This is a perfect example of a "5 star" video game. This game provides hours of multiplayer fun that just can't be beat by any other game out there. The single player may not be the best, but it provides you with enough to do, collecting trophies and all. If you haven't tried this game yet, I STRONGLY recommend you buy it, don't even rent it! I guarantee you'll love it! 4 stars (Could be better) - This game is cool,but the charecters are a rip-off.It hasn't got a plot.The graphics are cool but it is unrealistic.I am into the multiplayer mode,but 1 player classic is sooooooo easy.Too easy.Adventure 1 player is good though.I would rent it first,or else stick with Metroid Prime.(s.s.b.m has Samus!!!!)It's just a little bit violent.Best for ages 7-13,even though it's a rated T game.You should maybe buy it. ...

NGC Super Smash Bros Melee Bundle

5 stars (Gamecube is underestimated) - Unlike some people I've had them all. I started with a PS2. What a POS load times took forever on games like grand theft auto. The thing stopped working after only a year. I was a big tekken, final fantasy, and smackdown fan. Right around the time tekken 5 came out the PS2 stopped working. So I traded everything I had for my PS2 to my local EB and got an XBOX. Load times were much faster. They really didn't have alot of titles that I liked though. No great fighting games or RPG's and then GTA load times were so much faster. Then after 3 years of service the Xbox was dead. What a great machine that was lasting so long. So I traded everything I had for the Xbox for a Gamecube. All of my friends thought I was stupid, but I think I couldn't have made a better choice. Load time is awesomely fast. 4 stars (My favorite system and my favorite game.Awesome deal.) - Like many people I dismissed the Game Cube as a mediocre system with a couple of great games such as this one. I've played it before but I hadnt bought it until the summer of 2004.There are so many great games and cool accesories out now. I've played F Zero GX about 50 times and I just recently bought a Wave Bird and a Game Boy player. It's pretty cool to be able to play games like Super Mario World and old school style F Zero on my tv again. I got the Sonic Gems Collection for my birthday and love playing Sonic CD but my favorite game for the system is hands down Super Smash Bros. Melee. Ive unlocked every character and almost every stage and the sound is much improved when I plug in my V600s and play Game Boy Advance and Game Cube games on the tv. The best sounding effects and music are on SSBM. This deal is a bargain. 4 stars (it's worth it !) - Like most people I got a PS2 as my system when it came out.
