5 stars (you need to want it) - After 15 years of heavy smoking it was the time to quit after my son was born. Whatsoever... it was a hard struggle and whenever i had the urge to smoke i picket up the book from Mr. Carr and it made the desire disappear. I did not use the book to quit smoking. (I did it cold turkey) it was actually not even after three month that i picket it up for the first time. When i had that urge and read a couple of pages it made me realize how stupid it was to ever light a cigarette again. I have not smoked since. It is still hard sometimes but whenever i feel the need to smoke i pick up the book instead. And i tell you. It works. 5 stars (I don't know how but it seems to work!!!) - I smoked for almost 18 years, 12 to 15 a day and never had the courage to have a serious attempt to quit. I tried reducing (I created spread sheets with graphs, daily averages, formulas to calculate rewards, penalties, comparing months, days, hours and all) for more than a year, which was an enormous struggle and did not help at all to reduce my desire to smoke and I think it made cigarettes even more precious for me than they were ever before. Recently, before boarding for a 7 hour flight, I bought a pack of nicotine gums - for the first time in my life. After trying it in the flight and afterwards, I realised it helped me and I didn't feel like smoking that much. So I set a date, stopped smoking cigarettes and started chewing nicotine gums from that day onwards. I was thinking that it was going very good by the help of miraculous nicotine gums and keep asking myself why I did not try them before. In the meantime, I had a tiny question in my mind: will it be also easy for me to quit nicotine gums when the time comes? After 10 days, I realized I don't crave for cigarettes anymore but for gums and took it as a good sign. As a coincidence, I heard about Mr. Carr's "way", seminars and books towards the end of the 2nd week of my attempt and decided to read the book ...

How to Become a Great Boss- The Rules for Getting and Keeping the Best Employees

1 stars (If you want to become a great boss, don't read this) - Fox uniquely attempts to give suggestions on how to keep the best employees. Fox divides his book into fifty short stories that sometimes include a real life situation. Many of his anecdotes have serious flaws in the basic principles of Organizational Behavior, while others do not fully explain how to handle potential problems. There are instances where his suggestions can be very useful in becoming a good manager. At other times, his stories have good concepts, but do have loopholes. If you were interested in only seeing a small picture of the steps to becoming a great manager, then I would recommend this book to you. Fo'xs numerous weaknesses on motivation make me believe that he does not understand some of the basic concepts of motivation. Furthermore, his continual discussion of avoiding mishires, without any description on how to do that, further weakens his arguments. I believe this book is for more experienced managers and educated employees who know to extrapolate the good ideas in the book, and ignore the bad. 2 stars (Very General ) - These are the basics... Some mangers probably need this but I would like to think that most are beyond this kind of general and obvious information. I got this book on CD and it was boring, I hate to imagine what it would be like to have read it. I recomend Primal Leadership. 1 stars (Not the least bit helpful) - I normally don't write reviews but I just read this book and I couldn't believe how much of a waste of money it was. FabJob Guide to Become a Wedding Planner

5 stars (Wedding Planner/Coordinator Guide ) - I loved this book because it didn't totally focus on the aspect of becoming a wedding planner, but also the more silent topics. It provided me with perfect examples of purchase orders, service requests, billing, and the how to's of marketing my future business. One can apply the information in this book to almost any personal business with a little tweeking of words and services, of course.... Highly recommend the FabJob Guide to becoming anything your heart desires!!! 4 stars (Dynamite!) - For the size and intent, this is the best book on the market. If you are thiking of becoming a professional wedding planner, this introductory book covers all the things you will have to learn. What it doesn't cover in detail, it points you in the direction of where you can find more information, with recommended websites and book titles. What it won't do, however, is teach you all the minute and various specific details that apply to your market and jurisdiction. As with any business, you still have to do a lot of legwork before you can actually make any money. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know exactly what's involved in getting started. 5 stars (A very useful book) - I have just finished reading this wonderful book. The information is precisely what I was looking for to start up my own wedding planning business. Over the years I had helped family and friends plan weddings and was wondering how I could do this as a paid career. The sections on getting clients, handling vendors and how much to charge for my services was really helpful. Also I agree with the other reviewer, the worksheets like the timeline schedule and budget sheet will be very useful. I am so excited to get started! ...
