5 stars (A Student's Review) - A comprehensive guide to floral care and designing. The author has complete instructions with illustrations which are very helpful. The author also teaches concepts through repetition and ties the chapters together by reviewing past concepts. 5 stars (Excellent Textbook of the Basics of Floral Design) - We used this textbook in our 'intro to floral design' course at Texas A&M University. I thought it did an excellent job of teaching all of the basic design principles, and it also had very good pictures and diagrams to aide in the learning. Unfortunately, I sold this book at the end of the semester, and I wish that I had kept it. I have been looking for a more economically priced floral design book, as complete as this one, and have not been able to find it. I you are a beginning designer, or need the ultimate floral design reference, this is the book for you! 5 stars (Textbook Style Book) - This is a great book. It is a textbook style book, so it is a little on the technical side. If you are interested in retail floristry then you will find it to be a great book. But if you are a hobbyist or are looking for a book to give you ideas for arrangements to place around the house/office this book maybe more technical than you want. ...

5 stars (How do you choose just one?) - Don't even open this book unless you have an hour to spend with it. This is a veritable catalog of finishing and edges! Armed with this guide, you'll never be accused of bland knitting! Even new knitters will find creative and easy ways to spice up their projects. Each technique is shown with a swatch, instruction are easy to follow and concise and there are even several sweater and scarf designs included to demonstrate different ways you can ornament your knitting. A wonderful addition to your knitting reference library. 2 stars (Fraught with Mistakes!) - While the designs and photographs in this book are absolutely beautiful, I don't know if any of the reviewers actually tried knitting anything. The book is filled with mistakes and typos! I tried to contact the publisher, but there is no listing in New York for Sixth & Spring Publishing. I finally found a phone number in a knitting magazine. They were not very pleasant, but did tell me to contact "webmaster@sohopublishing.com" to get the corrections. The book does have a disclaimer about mistakes, but they should have tried knitting from their own instructions before publishing this expensive book! 3 stars (HELP! I want to use this book!) - How frustrating! I really wanted this beautiful book and finally got it. Poured over it for weeks and then I got the time to concentrate and actually try out the patterns. Try as I might, I COULD NOT EXECUTE THE PATTERNS! I am a grandmother who has been knitting since I was a kid, armed with my "Handook of Knitting" and ready to understand abbreviations, etc. YET.... I found that the amount of cast-ons at the start of the edgings I tried did not match up with the directions on the first rows. For instance, if it said "Cast on 9" - when I went to do the first pattern row, the instructions always went past those 9 stitches and I could not complete that first row. I am utterly frustrated and crying out for help. Someone PLEASE H...
