PS2 NASCAR 06 Total Team Control

2 stars (NOT WORTH PLAYING) - I've been buying EA Sports nascar games ever since 2003 and have been pleased with each year but this one. Every game takes a little getting used to but this one is impossibe. I use a driving wheel and pedals on my playstation 2 for my nascar games and not once I've had to program the gas and brake pedals in to use it. The first time I played this game, when it said go I had no gas and no brakes. I thought my steering wheel was broken but after a while I figured it out. I thought everything was going to be okay but I soon found out that I couldn't even push the gas pedal down an inch without doing a burnout. And the braking was the same way. I couldn't go down into a corner and put on the brakes without locking them up. It is ridiculous. I myself could live without controlling my teamates cars as well as mine but I guess EA Sports has to put something new in the game every year so people will buy it and I appreciate that they are trying to make the game better but it seems like every good thing they try to add they have to take away a good aspect of the game and this year it was the driving part of it. The bottom line is this is a racing simulater game and this year the game doesn't resemble that. I guess we'll just have to wait until next year to see if that game is worth paying good money for.As for the graphics of it, they are good. The tracks look just like they would in person and for the most part, so do the cars. Another bad thing about this game is when you're going 200 miles an hour somewhere, it seems like you are going about 70. The 2003, 2004, and 2005 games were great but not 2006. My take on this game is that they have really messed it up and if you are thinking about buying it, rent it first. 3 stars (It's okay.) - Well, this is a game that I think is not a very good game like Gran Turismo 4 and Need For Speed Underground 2. It is because the game play is kind of bad because as somebody mentions, the steering is not ver...

Sunday Money - Speed- Lust- Madness- Death- A Hot Lap Around America with Nascar

5 stars (reading pleasure) - "Sunday Money" is all about NASCAR. Subtitled: "Speed! Lust! Madness! Death! - a hot lap around America with NASCAR", it fulfills its promise of an exciting ride. The author and his photographer wife bought a motorhome and spent an entire racing season following the NASCAR circuit. The book describes the allure of NASCAR from the several different perspectives of superstars, fans, history and politics, mythology, American culture. To this non-fan, it provides a vast amount of information and insight and reading pleasure. Jeff MacGregor is a fine storyteller. 4 stars (Sunday Money) - This is both a whimsical as well as a fast paced work about the fastest paced sport in America. Jeff MacGregor has a personal story to tell about his year in a motor home with "The Beep" and the inside story about the NASCAR culture. Both stories are well told and attention gripping. MacGregor's insights into the fact and fiction of NASCAR are penetrating. At the same time he has a puckish, tongue in cheek attitude toward the sport and his own adventure. Even if one has little or no interest in the world of auto racing, this will be an enjoyable companion on a trip or a pleasant escape from the every day world most of us inhabit. By the way, although it isn't mentioned in the bio on the book jacket, I think this is the same Jeff MacGregor who hosted a game show some years back. 4 stars (NASCAR fans-got to read!) - This book details the dream many of us NASCAR fans have-traveling the whole circuit in an RV, experiencing every race. I really liked the book-the history of NASCAR, the money, and the good stories of drivers, all were great! Having camped at races, I understand the joy of it. It is like you are one big family! ...
