His humility forced him to be dependent on God for all things, and this book illustrates his philosophy in action. Brother Lawrence tells the reader how he can be grateful for all things - both good and bad - in one's life. I recommend it to all Christians who seek to prioritze their life to place God at the forefront. 4 stars (Devotional Classic) - The Practice of the Presence of God is an incredible story of a man who sought to be ever in God's presence. The lesson of Brother Lawrence is simple: If you want to be ever in the presence of God, you have to practice, practice, practice! You must force yourself to be ever aware of God's working around you. You must turn every aspect of your life into a service to Him. When you have done so, you will be habitually in the presence of God. No silly gimmicks. Just a continuous state of prayer, thanking God for every blessing and turning over every care. While at times this little book finds ways to repeat itself, hidden in the basic story is truth upon truth. This little book makes for very good daily spiritual reading. It is broken up into small, easily manageable sections which can be read as part of a daily devotional or prayer time. The only difficulty with it is that it's very short, so it probably won't last you that long if you only read through it once. But, it is still a devotional classic worth reading. 5 stars (constant and unceasing prayer) - Over the years I've met a few "prayer warriors" who seemed to spend every waking moment connected to God. 5 stars (Brother Yun- a servant of the Lord) - This book will impact you. What really struck me is how God shows Himself in vessels who willingly surrender themselves. "The Heavenly Man" is a story of a simple man who on his own did not do anything extraordinary. The one thing that Brother Yun did do was believe. He believed, trusted and obeyed. This book puts a human face on what it means to trust and obey. It has helped me immensely to realize that even today, God still works miracles. I have come to realize that we often don't see the hand of God because we don't really believe. There is really nothing more that I can say about this book than to say that it will impact you. I am very thankful that Brother Yun has shared his story. I give it my highest recommendation. 5 stars (Take up your cross and follow me) - This remarkable true story of brother Yun is a counter balance to the current prosperity teaching now prevelant in the West. It brings to life the words of our Saviour "take up your cross and follow me." Though the continual brutality of the Chinese prison authorities towards brother Yun can be a bit depressing his continued faith and deep relationship with the Lord is amazing. It is a true story which will challenge and inspire every true Christian. 2 stars (Poor compared to Final Draft) - Movie Magic Screenwriter fails miserably in comparison with Final Draft. It is harder to use, less writer friendly, and very, very strange in terms of formatting. Many basic elements are not available in drop down menus and odd questions pop up. The positive is its compatibility with Movie Magic budgeting and scheduling. 3 stars (Lose your CD-Rom Forget it1) - Ok so I haven't written anytthing publishable in a while. So now I want to write a play for a contest and don't have the CD ROM. Try to uninstall it from two computers you no longer have. Pleasure Cruise

5 stars ( Pleasure Cruise ) - This book was very good, I enjoyed the the by play between the two friends. It made them appear very real. This book is a keeper. 5 stars (Hot and fun, a great read!) - The supernatural races are in danger of dying out as they refuse to mates for all eternity from their own, so the 'powers that be' have arranged for a few paths to cross, with the aid of a singles cruise! Clare is a workaholic and her friend Kira has bought them cruise tickets to relax and have a little fun. However it's only when they get to their rooms and find that they are already occupied by two very sexy men (a werewolf for clare and a vampire for Kira) that their fun and the rest of their lives begin. Although this book is written by Pillow and Roth it is one continuous seamless story rather than two separate stories as previous collaborations have been, and it works very well. There is no pull towards one character rather than another and there is no voice louder than another. I look forward to future Pleasure titles "Pleasure Air" and "Pleasure Island" hinted at in the prologue and would wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone. 4 stars (A JUMP START TO MY WRITING) - I looked to this product to give me a little push and shove into writing more and organizing my thoughts. So far, it has worked out pretty well for me. It has made me consider in more detail my character developments and conflicts. Don't expect it to write for you, but if you are looking for some organization it is well worth the price. 1 stars (Junk.) - I suggest saving yourself the $34.49 and instead investing in a Bickpen and one of those little black journals we used in school. All this program is good for is keeping a record of character, plot and motivation. Frankly, all you need is a couple pieces of paper for that. 2 stars (Restrictive and time-consuming) - The problem with most novel-writing software I've been testing is that they involve a lot of "writing before the writing." While some planning is good, the amount of data entry these programs require detract from getting actual pages written, and the reality is that all those plans will likely change as you write anyway. This program is no exception. I find all the initial set-up to be cumbersome without yielding benefits that might ultimately actually streamline my process in the weeks or months ahead. (By contrast, for example, Final Draft - a screenwriting program - stores your characters' names so that you only need to type the first few letters and press Enter. You can also toggle your scenes from script to outline and back again without re-entering the information.) As for the more theoretic stuff, the story prompts are clearly taken from screenwriting which is formulaic due to the time contraints of a film. (For example, the lengths of scenes, act breaks, and total number of pages are far more restrictive to fit a 120-minute film than the scenes, chapters, and total pages of a novel.) Because a novel can be far longer than a 120-page screenplay, there's little here for creating stories with complex plots, for tracking subplots, or for creating backstory f...

Brothers in Arms- Road to Hill 30 DVD-ROM

5 stars (Great Immersion, Unsuitable Language For Some) - Never bought a WWII title before, and I had heard good things about this title, so I figured I would give it a try. Gameplay is very intuitive, controls are easy to master in a short period of time. Until you figure out the little things that help succeed in a mission, you can end up doing a mission over several times. Good graphics - great immersion between graphics, sound, and the stress of trying to complete a mission with bullets whizzing by you. ONE thing...In striving for realism, there is some offensive language. I am sure that soldiers on D-Day weren't saying "Golly Gee - someone is shooting at me", so I get their drift. But the truth is, be prepared for it...It starts during the opening scenes. You will hear F***,A**h***, and S*** during the game. There are a few gruesome bodies in the game, but nothing major. All in all, a great game, but not for children, and not for those who don't want that language coming from their speakers. 5 stars (A great game indeed!) - If you want a realistic WWII game, then buy this one. If you want a simple run-'n-gun shooter, then look elsewhere. You won't be charging around killing scores of enemies within minutes either (but you will kill enough to satisfy your trigger finger!). The utter authenticity and feels-like-you're-there atmosphere is absolutely amazing, as is some of the blood and gore one might witness in combat (during certain chapters of the game). But even when you see some of your comrades simply lying still and dead on the ground ahead of you, this game really makes you feel for them -- along with somewhat better understanding the waste of human life that occurs during war. 3 stars (To Leonard Snerdley) - First, this isn't a review of this product. I've seen alot of ridiculous things on the internet, but I came across the review by Leonard Snerdley that I just couldn't believe. Here's a quote from sNerdley "It's helped me realize that I really am a truly gifted writer...". I don't think I've seen someone that full of themselves...ever. Another quote, "But for us creative types, I guess that's not needed - we've always got new and fresh ideas!" Seriously, tell me you're kidding. Apparently not, he keeps going with "This type of thing is mainly for those of us who truly have a future in the business, not the pretenders." (sound of one man throwing up). This has to be a joke, right?! How can someone be so full of themselves while being so condescending towards everyone else on the planet that "should consider another hobby or long-term project". Looking at some of this person's other reviews I can see this guy apparently thinks he's the greatest thing in the world. His profile even screams insecure wannabe talent with "I also seem to be a lone voice of critical reason in a sea of hyperbole." I feel like I'm reading something written by Dr. Timothy Leary...one person can not seriously be this conceited and full of themselves?! 5 stars (Just might make you rich!) - For anyone who knows me, it's no secret that I would love to be a screenwriter.
