Snorkel Hawaii The Big Island- Second Edition

5 stars (There is a newer edition of this book!) - Snorkel Hawaii The Big Island Second Edition is the current, in print version of this book. From time to time, the Amazon search engine sends people to this older, out of print version. We have tried repeatedly to correct this, but Amazon seems unable to do it. Try clicking on the authors names, and look for Snorkel Hawai The Big Island Second Edition, which is more up to date. 5 stars (WONDERFUL!!) - Handy and cleverly detailed, the Malinowskis sure know the Big Island. There were enough listings to keep me diving every day for two weeks. You have to go underwater to really appreciate this place. You should also buy a surfing rashguard top to stay warm because you'll be underwater more than you ever thought. The Big Island Revealed pales in complexion and is not a contender when it comes to knowing anything about snorkeling. You won't need to sign up for a pricey professional tour if you have this book. Snorkeling Hawaii takes you to the same places the tours tout as hidden and private. 5 stars (Snorkel Hawaii The Big Island --New Edition) - The second edition of this book is great. There are so many snorkeling sites that this book will be a welcome companion for years. In fact, it has already made the Big Island a favorite. You won't find places like Frog Rock described anywhere else, so you will likely have this fabulous site to yourselves. One can snorkel a different site each day and find them just the way the book describes them. This book helped discover the Big Island in a very special way, and I fully recommend it. ...

Manual of Freediving- Underwater on a Single Breath Freediving

4 stars (Freediving) - The intent of this book is to help you become a better freediver. It contains excellent teaching to help improve your freediving skills. There is practical advice to help you relax and learn to be in tune with your body. This book will help you to reach new levels of performance, dive deeper, stay longer, with more comfort and ease. However, you will have to sift trough some pseudo-scientific explanations and descriptions before you get to more practical helps. There are plenty of references to evolutionary development. Some people still accept the science of Stanley Miller's experiments in 1953 or Ernst Haeckels creative fictional drawings as fact. The writers of this book accept many of these types of theories as fact. If you can overlook these references and get to the more practical sections you will find helpful materials. 4 stars (Very usefull, it's like a personnal coach!) - I've been practicing Freediving a lot over the last 3 years. This book covers it all, from history to physiology. It is well explained, and almost every aspects of the sport is covered. I especialy felt in love with the yearly training program at the end of the book. It's bee 2 months now and I realy did improve my statics and dynamics. The book was writen by a profesionnal freediver, and a profesionnal sport educator, so you'll learn all you need to practice and improve yourself. The only reason why I don't give it a 5, it's because it's even too complete... there are sometimes way too many details, so it gets long and heavy to read. Anyhow, the first and perfect freediving bible for anyone. 1 stars (For this beginner, worthless) - It's always difficult for a beginner to review a textbook, because there's always the chance that your reactions are entirely offbase.
