Secrets - Mysteries of the World

3 stars (Book about everything) - Looks interesting. I will change my rating, when i get to read it. 3 stars (Fun Read However Light in Research and did Aliens Really Build It All?) - I picked up this title because, well, I was intrigued by the title. I am what you call a seeker and a knowledge whore, so I picked this up hoping that it would shed some light on the mysteries of the world. I was indeed pleased with the read, however for me it read as a noval and not really a non-fiction book as it claims to be. Browne is a fascinating person and I have enjoyed some of her work, but I have a hard time with the whole belief by some in the psychic-new age community that if something cant be explained,ie stonehenge, the pyramids, etc... that well aliens must have done it, that is a very big reach to me and I have a hard time with that logic, if you can call it that. There was without a doubt a intellegance on this planet that for whatever reason was lost, and as a whole I can believe that egyptions etc... had access to a line of thought that we in a computerized society can't comprehend. This is afun read if you are looking for a light easy to read thesis by one person on the so called mysteries of the world, but not one that i can sink my teeth into. 5 stars (Really Gets You Thinking!) - Wow. This book really gets you thinking. It is a great read and opens a lot of doors for you to want to explore and research more on your own. I never heard of a "tulpa" or Lemuria but I was instantly fascinated by the information in the book from Sylvia's psychic perspective. Out of all the Sylvia Browne books I have read this one by far is the most hands on. Read with an open mind and research the information for yourself I am sure whatever you discover will be interesting and open your eyes to a world of new things and even raise more questions. Isn't that the nature of mysteries & secrets? ...

Steps of Transformation- An Orthodox Priest Explores the Twelve Steps

1 stars (Well meaning but mis-guided) - Hi As a former twelve stepper i know that most 12 step programs especially AA denigrate organized religion......the 12 steps look on the surface to be totally christian but if you study AA's hallowed "Big Book" you'll find many statements that are totally incompatible with orthodoxy...." the spiritual path is broad and never exclusive." which is in direct opposistion to Jesus's statement that the path is narrow and broad is the path that leads to destruction.......When taking a forth step inventory when you get to your sexual inventory it just says to look where you have been selfish..forget adultary...its not mentioned.......bill wilson claimed extreme drunkeness kept him from cheating on his wife but after sobering up he had several misstresses..........they had a group of AA people that their whole job was watching him so he didn't embaress AA..... He Experimented with LSD thinking it was the answer for people who couldn't get the program...... While writing the 12 steps he claimed he got inspiration directly fom a 15th century monk named Boniface..... Dr. Bob the co founder and his wife Anne had regular sceances in their home........i won't post my email here because AA people are fanatic about the cult.....there is a book called Not God .i forget the author but it was taken from AA's archives plus if someone will put there email on a post i can send online documentation about every thing i say..... aa's vuanted success rate is actually about 6% for one year of sobriety and 1% for five years..not an overwelming success... the suicide rate is very high..due mostly being controlled by sponsers that basically browbeat sponsees..i was on the verge of suicide when i left the cult...i had quit the church after being brainwashed that the doctrines of all churches are man made...I have discovered real spirituality not the AA brand.. just watch tv..12 step programs are mentioned constantly as real pop culture now......the suc...

Body for Life for Women- A Woman-s Plan for Physical and Mental Transformation

4 stars (A real tool for attaining health and fitness for life) - Body for Life for Women should be considered an essential guide for women's preventive heath. Because it is focused specifically on the unique health and fitness needs and problems encountered by women, it is much more valuable for women than general health or diet texts. While it promotes a plan of "12 weeks to a fabulous body"; to see it as a mere diet or fitness book sells short its real value. A diet book may help us (temporarily) lose a few pounds; this book aims to show us how to create a healthy body in which we can live independently throughout our lives. As a spokesperson on health, Dr. Peeke is the real thing. She is an expert on the most current understanding of nutrition, preventive health and women's issues. The book is well written, inspiring and accessible. It gives women, especially those of us over 40, real hope and guidance as we wonder why "what we have always done" to stay fit is not working any more. I found especially interesting the section on life milestones, which describes a woman's health priorities at each stage of life. The mind principles, which urge us to examine the attitudes that shape our behavior, are a wake-up call. Dr. Peeke is a big fan of the Nike slogan "Just Do It". In this book, she tells us exactly what it is that we must just do and provides the tools and motivation to keep doing it. 5 stars (You won't believe it!) - I have completed my 12 week program and am astounded by the results. I'm 53 and a dancer but I never thought my body would return to this level of fitness. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don't intend to stop my regimen because I feel so good and the weight keeps coming off. I've already added almost six pounds to my muscle mass and my fat percentage is now 23.8%. Lory Reyes 5 stars (Set for success) - Will "Body for Life for Women" be as successful as the original "Body for Life" by Bill Philips? At the moment we don't know, bu...

The Disappearance of the Universe- Straight Talk About Illusions- Past Lives- Religion- Sex- Politic

5 stars (The Best) - From my experience I would sincerely say that this is not only the best book ever written about "A Course in Miracles" but one of the best spiritual books EVER written. This is because it does the seemingly impossible. It makes the heretofore arcane "A Course in Miracles" completely understandable to both the novice and the experienced student by bringing it into the vernacular. What was confusing before is now crystal clear. Writers have been trying to do that for 30 years, but this book is the first to really succeed. Second, it is of great value to those who aren't interested in A Course in Miracles by setting the record straight about Jesus, who never intended to start a religion, and making universal spiritual truths more clear for everyone. The Disappearance of the Universe talks the way that people really talk, and in doing so brings everyone a message that can't be missed - if you're ready for it. 1 stars (Should be called the "Book of Lies and Deceptions") - Arten pg. 55: "What if you don't try to convince people to believe anything? Start writing it like it's just a story - as though you made it up. Then tell people they made you up. It's all made up. That's the point, my brother." Got through 100 pages before I decided not to waste any more of my time. This book is full of contradictions, the writing is crude, the authors attitude towards heavenly messengers is ridiculous. How many people on earth if they TRULY had heavenly messengers pop out of thin air would talk to them as crudely as Gary does. Gary's belief that he's witty and humorous is the illusion. After 100 pages I was still waiting to find something NEW and enlightening. There is nothing new or enlightening here. 5 stars (Wonderful Book of Ideas) - When reading this book, I suspended judgment whether it was a "true" book, or pure fiction. I also did not care where the ideas came from. Perhaps they were channeled. Perhaps not. Perhaps all great work is channeled. In t...

Leading Change- Why Transformation Efforts Fail HBR OnPoint Enhanced Edition

5 stars (Make Change Irresistibly Attractive) - The leaders of some organizations have no idea how to make successful changes, and are likely to waste a lot of resources on unsuccessful efforts. Professor Kotter has done a solid job of outlining the elements that must be addressed, so now your organization will at last know what they should be working on. On the other hand, if you have not seen this done successfully before, you may need more detailed examples than this book provides or outside facilitators to help you until you have enough experience to go solo. I suspect this book will not be detailed enough by itself to get you where you want to go. Here's a hint: The Harvard Business Review article by Professor Kotter covers the same material in a much shorter form. You can save time and money by checking this out first before buying the book. I personally find that measurements are very helpful to create self-stimulation to change, and this book does not pay enough attention in that direction. If you agree that measurements are a useful way to stimulate change, be sure to read The Balanced Scorecard, as well, which will help you understand how to use appropriate measurements to make more successful changes. If you want to know what changes to make, this book will also not do it for you. I suggest you read Peter Drucker's Management Challenges for the 21st Century and Peter Senge's Fifth Discipline. Good luck! ...
